Category Archives: Alanna Today we had our Christmas … It was fun to see the kids so EXCITED about their gifts. I LOVE my kids so MUCH!!! The only thing that would have made it better would have been to have Curtis & Kasey with us. We LOVE them and think about them EVERYday!  The kids wrote Santa to see if he’d come early so they could celebrate before Alanna leaves for Las Vegas. We are so excited that he’s coming tonightI love that they are all sleeping in the same room because that’s their “tradition”. Yummy dinner {ham, mashed potatoes, candied yams, green bean casserole and dinner rolls},...  I snagged the idea from a friend to make “rice krispy” houses rather then gingerbread. They are MUCH easier for littler ones to make and they are more likely to get eaten afterwards. Next year I will leave the frosting plain instead of giving it a lemon flavor. This was a great activity for our...  Peyton was EXCITED & apprehensive to join a basketball team. This is his first “team” sport. To say he LOVES basketball is an understatement. He WANTED to join the team, but was adamant that he just wanted to go to practice but not have to play in any games … This was until his first...  I love this time in Peyton’s life when he is experiencing so many of his “firsts”. Yes, at eight years old he is stilling experiencing themToday he experienced his “first” piano recital. He was so CONFIDENT, looked SO HANDSOME, and did AAAAHHHHMAZING!!!  Now that Thanksgiving is done we can get ready for the Christmas Season. It is A LOT of fun for Preston to be big enough to ENJOY the holidays with us. He wanted to be APART of putting the ornaments ON the tree and not just low … he’s a pro with the step stool...  This is the FIRST Thanksgiving that I haven’t been with extended family. Last year we spent it with my cousin in Tennessee {where I’m taking the kids tomorrow}, but it didn’t work out for Carl to take more time off to be able to go with us and make it worth the drive. We picked...  Today I enjoyed a silly, chill, fun day with the kids. At the mall we took a ride on the train … Alanna was embarrassed, but coming with us was better then standing by herself while we went. I need to get the pics she took of the boys with her phone  Alanna participated in her FIRST violin recital. She performed WONDERFULLY! I am grateful for EVERYday that I have with her. It took us awhile for an opening to come available for her to take with Mrs. Patti, but she is WORTH the wait. We are so PROUD of Alanna! Alanna performed “Devils Dream” arranged by...  The firehouse down the street had it’s open house today. The firehouse had to be rebuilt after getting damaged in the tornado last year. My FAVORITE part was the “smoke” house. Peyton was chosen to be the one to call 911 and FROZE when they asked for his address. The fire alarm was going off...  Halloween night was simple … Trick R Treating was it this year. The kids had school the day of and the day after so it couldn’t be a super late night. They had FUN and collected WAY too much candy! Alanna – Batman Peyton – Just Beiber … can you tell? even with the microphone...  We did our annual pumpkin carving. Preston was big enough to really join in this year {with a little help from mom}. It’s a fun, relaxing night where we turned on Halloween music, carved, laughed and ENJOYed! Peyton was excited to have his dads help  I ADORE when our kids enjoy just being a KID! It is SO important that it happens OFTEN! Although the picture is dark and grainy, it’s Alanna and Lilly riding bikes.  We had TEARS and HUGS as the grandmas tried to leave for the airport. We were all sad to see them go, but poor Preston was the worst … he was SOOOO SAD to see them leave. We will cherish the memories created and hope it’s not too long before they come to visit again....  This has been a MUCH anticipated day … one that has brought much excitement. Peyton {we} were so grateful that the grandparents & Aunt Karen made the sacrifice of time and finances to be here in person to support Peyton on his BIG day. Many were also supporting him in spirit and we are grateful...  There is a HUGE hill of dirt in the subdivision we live in, where they are moving dirt to build more houses and the kids LOVE to play there. ESPECIALLY after it’s rained. The only thing not covered in mud on Peyton is yes … his eye balls. Another moment that I was grateful my...  Dentist saw all three kids today to check out their pearly whites … NO CAVITIES for any of them! YEAH!!!  Can’t believe my princess is already 12! She will ALWAYS hold a very SPECIAL place in my heart; I LOVE her to bits & pieces!!! Her pick for today was to go to the lake and then the mall … so off and running we went. It was a PERFECT day; the food was yummy...  The kids are still tracked out, and I wanted them to spend their birthday’s doing exactly what they wanted. Peyton’s choice …. the zoo. It’s about an hour and half away so we had a fun drive, talking, listening to music and telling jokes. The zoo was so much better then the one in Las...  The birthday celebrations have begun. Tonight was Alanna’s night to celebrate!!! Games galore, pizza bar {the girls made personal pizzas}, yummy treats, and a cupcake bar. She had a great night and has so many AMAZING friends!  Bittersweet day. This is the last photograph I will ever get of my baby girl with her given smile. We’ll get a lot of photos with braces and then the beautiful smile she has been waiting for. The best part is that after getting her braces off, she’ll hopefully smile without being self conscious. Brackets...  Today was the orthodontist follow up after a year of waiting … and she was given the answer she wanted. It just so happens that they have an opening tomorrow first thing in the morning!
