Monthly Archives: August 2011 He had so much fun coloring … after all it was just highlighter and easily comes off in a fun bubble bath! Sometimes when life happens, you just need to laugh!!!  The kids have hit an age (ok it’s been happing for while) where they want just about everything they see. We got off schedule with moving, trying to get organized and it being summer. We felt like it was a good time with school starting and Alanna being back so we sat down a few...  He has SO much personality and MANY facial expressions to go with it. These are the one I narrowed it down to … YES, I did narrow it downHis kissy face probably makes my heart melt the most, but his smile and laugh come in a VERY close second.  The kids got father’s blessings last night before bed. After Peyton’s he said, “Mom, all my nervous feelings about starting school are gone.” He also did a great job waking up this morning, getting showered and ready for the day. Since school is just over 20 minutes away he has to be ready to walk...  Today is Alanna’s first day of junior high and I feel like she is well prepared. She woke up early and without complaint. She felt ready since her clothes were laid out and her backpack & lunch were both packed last night. She put her makeup on and I crimped her hair (we did a...  I took the kids to “Marbles” today. It’s a kid’s museum and we had a blast (playing with trains, playing checkers, exploring a pirate ship, watering flowers, dancing, playing soccer, hockey, building with blocks, and much more). Afterwards we ate at Roly Poly and went for a walk. I wish school wasn’t starting tomorrow, there...  I couldn’t resist taking a picture of how he had buckled his new shoes in next to him so they would “safely” make it home.  Peyton was able to meet his teacher this afternoon and drop off his school supplies. She seems really nurturing, but like she will push him; which is a combination that I love. I’m excited to hopefully be able to help in his classroom. He really missed out on that last year since it seemed like...  The beach was perfect … warm with a slight breeze. The kids ran, dug and enjoyed every wave. I wish everyday could be this peaceful and beautiful!  Alanna was helping Preston “clean-up” his spill. She is such a loving and helping big sister. The boys just LOVE having her back. They missed her a TON while she was in Vegas this summer. We are so HAPPY to have her back!  Tonight we were leaving dinner and an elderly woman in the sweetest voice says to Alanna, “ohhh sweety, someone is going to mistake you for a lemon and squeeze you right up because you’re so cute!” Of course it made Alanna blush, but a smile was glued to her face the rest of the night.  Today was such relaxing day. No schedule to follow, no running kids around anywhere … just a day of doing what we wanted and spending QUALITY time with the boys. Alanna flies out tomorrow and I can’t wait to spend time with her too!  I spent almost two weeks in Las Vegas … We stayed with Tye & Tom and they were amazing hosts. Tye set up a pool in her backyard and the boys played together forever and enjoyed every second goofing off. The sisters (minus Toresa who hadn’t made it into town yet) went to BJ’s for... |
