I feel terrible when my kids are sick. Preston has been throwing up, feeling achey and just wants to be held. I hope he feels better sooner then later.
Monthly Archives: May 2012 The boys have been so stinkin cute. They want to take their skateboards to the bus stop and skate while we wait. I wish I could bottle them up young and keep them small forever!!!  It has felt so good lately getting out and running in the fresh air. Peyton and Alanna have even joined me on a few runsI loved the company!!!  After eating at Doumar’s BBQ we headed to Kill Devil Hills. Next trip we will plan in advance … there was ONE hotel with an available room {after all it was Memorial Weekend and we were spending it at the beach}. It wasn’t what we were used to, but the positive side of it was...  We drove to Norfolk Virginia this afternoon to eat at Doumar’s BBQ. It’s a classic joint {hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, coke float, limeade and ice cream were consumed by our family}. We chose to eat in rather then go with car hop service. We all needed to stretch our legs. Mr. Doumar invented the waffle...  My sister delivered two healthy twin boys today. She is an AWESOME example of what a MOTHER is. I wish I were there to help her, cuddle her boys and photograph them … but will have to wait a couple weeks for thatShe looks AMAZING & I miss her SWEET face! Davyn was born at...  I woke up to Preston starring at me. I never get tired of seeing my kiddos faces!!!  I am EXTREMELY PROUD of how well Alanna has done this semester with Horse Riding Lessons. She’s a natural!!!  Alanna is AMAZING and will sometimes rub my feet. Today she offered and did an AWESOME job {WITHOUT being asked} ~ I LOVE MY PRINCESS!!!  My boys are BEYOND HANDSOME!!! Especially when they are all dressed and ready for church  He wants it with him ALL the time … watching TV, when we walk Peyton to the bus stop, when he sleeps, in the car, grocery shopping {ALL THE TIME}. The way he asks for it it PRICELESS ~ I need to get it on video.  To say this little squirrel was FRIENDLY is an understatement. It came right up to Carl {we assume he thought Carl had food}. He let Carl bend down and get REALLY close.  Today is the birthday of a sister that I visit teach. GIGI’s has become my go to place to get a small gift on a special occasion. Preston LOVES these trips. I mean doesn’t a cupcake make any day better?  They say when your kids hide to poop that they are likely ready to potty train. I thought maybe Preston may do better if his underwear had Lightning MacQueen and Toy Story characters on them. We’ll see ~ stay tuned for his progress ….  I had a maternity session scheduled for this evening. I had planned this one out in my head for hours, bought balloons & cupcakes and made personalized name tags for some tummy shots {she’s having twin girls} and this is how the weather cooperated. Hopefully tomorrow morning the weather will be better !  Alanna has REALLY gotten into puzzles this last week. It had a contagious effect. This one was a 1000 piece puzzle that we got from someone {Trista or Tara ~ not sure which} but it was in the wrong box. Putting it together without a picture was difficult. Once we got it put together enough...  I don’t know what to do with Peyton’s hair … it grows INCREDIBLY fast! He was in NEED of a haircut!!!  Sometimes you just need to do what a two year old finds fun. This morning it meant sitting on the floor rolling a bouncy ball back and forth. I NEVER get tired of hearing Preston’s giggle!  This year, Mother’s Day was VERY different. I MISSED seeing my mom!!! We spent the day with our little family and enjoyed the Sunday. I woke up to a HUGE pot of flowers, Peppermints, Rolo’s, cards from each of the kids and a hand-made bracelet from Peyton. Carl’s Elder’s Quorum meeting was cancelled since it’s...  We wanted to do something FUN with the kids that we haven’t done in awhile. We thought what better than lunch & bowling! The kids LOVE to do both of those. Peyton earned a free kid’s meal from Golden Corral for his grade and I promised we would use it before the end of the...  This is how I found the boys this morning watching cartoons before Peyton left for school. They LOVE each other!!!  The last couple weeks we have had fresh North Carolina grown vegetables and fruits delivered to our door. This week was MUCH better then last. Bok Choy is in this weeks bunch … let’s see what we can do with it ~ never eaten it, let alone cooked it. We are ENJOYING the strawberries and...  The kids BEGGED to go swimming now that the community pool is open so Carl and I sat at the pool and chatted while the kids swam for an hour in between school and the busy night. Alanna and I were off to Activity Girls; while the boys were off to Peyton’s evening Butterfly Performance....  I love that at such an early age Preston ADORES being around friends. He can’t wait to go into nursery on Sundays. When I tell him it’s time to get ready for church he says with a HUGE grin on his face. “Me play with my friends.” Today was no different.
